There has been a recent announcement that some nurseries, even the ones that are providing places for children of key workers may have to take their people off furlough leave.

Most nurseries are in receipt of public funding for their 3-4 year olds from their local authority.  A portion of this funding is required to be used to pay employees that are currently working in the setting and providing childcare. If employers have employees that are on furlough but in funded roles, then they should be found work.

Employees where the funding is not directly relating to their role i.e. the 0-3 year old age group and commercial roles are likely to continue to be on furlough leave.
