On 6th July 2020, the state pension scheme increased it’s qualifying age from 65 to 66.

In September 2020, there plans to be more changes, which could be inline with the current economic crisis.

There is one more change scheduled after this in September.

You may or may not be aware that you can claim a state pension and a workplace pension at the same time.

This does not affect an individual’s ability to claim a workplace pension. Some workplace pensions allow you to retire at age 55 and also to start work again in the future. Each scheme is different, so it’s recommended you look into the scheme you are currently on and also the government has tools to help you work out what you may be entitled to.
