January 2020 – Veganism is now an ethical belief: We’re delighted by this case being heard and with Jordi Casamitjana.
We started supporting businesses and individuals in the vegan sector because we have always believed it is a philosophical belief. We believe all individuals should be protected under the Equality Act for their belief. This ruling will mean that veganism will now be recognised in the workplace. It will help The Vegan Society’s work on making veganism more accessible become much easier and business will soon change their practices. Whether it will be an addition to the workplace canteen’s menu or the fact that the employer will now be paying for plant milk as well as cows milk for their employees. Veganuary could not have got off to a better start.
